I guess that wasn't a Baby Ruth bar that floated by.

They periodically close beaches here in Minnesota due to contamination, but it is usually caused by duck and goose droppings.

Take care,
Mike

Our beaches here on Lake Michigan are regularly monitored for contamination and will be closed occasionally, I think after heavy rains, runoff or something. I had read elsewhere about the Bermuda contamination, but I never saw any indication that they were doing any monitoring/closing of beaches as warranted. Maybe there are no regulations there requiring them to do so?

I would feel much more confident in booking a Bermuda cruise if I knew they were checking and would close a beach if necessary. There are many beaches in Bermuda located on all parts of the island, so doubtful they would all be affected at the same time. Hard to believe they were dumb enough to allow this to happen in the first place.
