As a frequent contributor and cruiser, I need some help. We started buying Cruise Travel Insurance last year for our longer European trip. I purchased TravelGuard as they price by each person's age and our ages do still fall into 2 brackets. Coverage seems to be very comparable to Access and better than other brands I cannot recall. This is my dilema. I just got an on-line quote for our next cruise which is a great price, only $7 more than from the Travel agency (Vacation Outlet) but I have also been fortunate to be able to utilize Frequent Flyer Points to buy our airline tickets. Travelguard will not cover any value for the air travel portion in case of cancellation or changes. In order to be eligable for "pre-existing" coverage, I must purchase by early next week (14 days from cruise purchase price). Does anyone have any advise on this one. (My sister-in-law has just been given 6 months to live.) So the chances of cancellation are 50/50.
First off.. so sorry to hear of your sister's prognosis! Our best thoughts to U and her.
In the case of cancellation ff air tickets are normally refundable for a very small fee. They simply credit the mileage back to your account.
Check with your airline ff program to see specifically what their charges are.
