Default Leaving cruise early + transportation - Orlando to Port Cana

1. Has anyone ever left a cruise a couple of days early? What type of cruise line authorization is required? Precoordination required?
2. Types of transportation available from Orlando to Port Canaveral? Daytona or Melborne to Port Canaveral?
Assistance is very much appreciated!

Leaving early may be impossible if it will violate the Jones Act (or Passenger Service Act, can never remember which one). If you end up boarding in one US port and debarking in another, without stopping in Colombia or the ABC Islands, you will not be able to do this.

Orlando to Port Canaveral there is taxi or a shuttle service (forget the name) that advertises here. You can also rent a car and drop off at Pt Canaveral. Works for DAB and MLB, too.

Thanks a million Marc!
Taking a simple 4 day cruise and might have to leave a day early while the ship is in Nassau - good comments on Jones act!
Will rent a car as you suggest!

I don't think there will be any trouble with your leaving the ship in Nassau, since there would be no violation of U.S. laws. The only possible restraint on your doing so would be by the Bahamian immigration people, and a possible violation of one of their laws. However, it would be my guess that you'd be OK with your plan. But I suggest that you discuss it with the cruise line personnel before making a final decision.
