ship excursions leave first?
We are going on a Eastern Carib. Cruise (Carnvial Triumph) and I am wondering if the people with ship booked excursions in the morning get to leave the boat first to get to their excursion.

Also - when leaving, we are actually staying a week in Miami, but want to get off the boat early and go to the Seaquarium. Should we book that though the ship or just tell them we have an early flight so they'll let us off the boat first?

Re: ship excursions leave first?
Yes and no. For most ships tours you meet in one of the lounges at at preset time and are escorted off the ship by either the tour guide or a Carnival rep. If your tour is later in the day you normally meet the tour guide on the pier so getting off first does not apply. The ones that meet in the lounges leave at staggered times although several tours might leave at the same time so you may get off first or not. If not first off and there is a line to get off you will be escorted past those waiting in line not on a ships tour.

What jedgar says is true - especially if you have a port where you have to tender in!

As for getting off the ship early - if you are staying post cruise in Miami, let those with flights get off first - you don't have to worry about making a flight, they do. Also the time difference (maybe two hours at most, probably less) is not that bad. jmho

I was on the Triumph on the Nov 29th sailing. If you are capable of handling all your luggage yourself, you can be in the first group off the ship on arrival day, regardless of your post-cruise travel plans. Enjoy!

My friends and I booked our own excursions in the Grand Caymans last fall , and had no trouble getting on the first tenders off the ship. We just went down to the auditorium where they tender tickets were distributed and asked for an early tender .We got a little sticker with a #1 on it. Made it to our early excursion with no problem.
