We bought a package deal from a cruise agency out of state.
We paid in full but had to cancel due to upcoming surgery. We bought travel insurance and thought nothing about it after canceling until I started to read on here that some insurance companies have restrictions.
We never went through an agency before or ever bought travel insurance so we thought everything is covered when you cancel.
We never recieved any type of travel documents nor a policy from the agency . We canceled via email explaining why we had to cancel. The agent said the insurance company may want a note from my doctor and that was all.
This was a pre-exsisiting condition that got worse.
I told the agent this and my concern but she never wrote back. We are unable to contact her since she has short hours and is not there in the evening.
Also she said it takes 4-6 weeks to get the claim forms and 4-6 weeks to get a refund. Is this normal?
DId you already pay for your cruise in full? I know these refunds take time, haven't had to cancel, but I would of thought you'd have something from the travel insurance company as to what your coverage is. I have been using CSA for a few cruises and as soon as I purchase it, I get something in the mail with the cost, dates, and whats covered and what amounts, etc. Do you have anything like that? What is the name of the travel insurance company?
