Default Birth certificate

First time cruiser here......

Will we need to bring birth certificates off the ship on port excursions?? I heard that St. Thomas you need to show documents, but is that to get off, or get back on ship??

Thanks

the only thing you need to get off and on the ship is your sign and sail card.
Immigration comes on board to check your identification

In San Juan you will need to have something to prove you are a US Citizen in order to get off the ship. At least that was out experance last time we were there. In that case yes you need to carry it. We did not have to show anything when we got off in St Thomas. This is just one more reason to get your Passport ASAP. Soon it will be required to have one to travel outside the USA and now is the time to get one before the line gets huge. <G>

I have been there a cuople times and the only time I needed my birth certificate was to board the ship at the start of the cruise, but not to get off at the islands.
