Default Booking on board question .. CM staff?

I have a question about booking while on board and am sure one of the CM staff members can answer.

iIf they still offer it in the summer of 2007, I am planning on taking the 9 night Granduer cruise out of Baltimore. I know the schedule will not be up yet when I cruise in November 2005. Can someone tell me if I book any 5 night Royal Caribbean cruise while on board to get the credit (which I know is $50 per person) and will only run me $400 deposit can I then change it to the 9 night and get a bigger credit? How much is a 9 night cruise credit?

I'd book the length of cruise you are after, on any RCI ship. Then if you have to transfer the booking to the correct ship later.

We've changed ships and retained the onboard credit, but I suspect they wouldn't allow you to switch from a 5 day to a 9... and can't imagine they'd give you the larger discount.

Thank you Kuki, someone on another board said that you could get the bigger credit later and I had my doubts. I figured you all would know more so I came here to ask you.

I may just have to book a 5 night and keep the credit they give me because I do not think I can come up with $1800 to book a 9 nighter by November. $400 is much more in my range.
