Chit-Chat, etc.

I read Chit-Chat and lots of other boards almost evey day. I'd like to post on Chit-Chat, but every time I post all of the threads are "scrambled". I can read it if I close and reopen Cruisemate's every time I post, but this can get very tedious!

If I want to post on several threads it's just not worth my time. Is there something I can do with my computer, or is it "normal" for this area? I read from "bottom to top". (Oldest to newest).

I know that, for some reason, the "new" feature doesn't work on most of the threads, but could someone get it to work on the "Chit-Chat" thread? I can follow dates on other threads, but Chit-Chat works so much differently. I would appreciate any help you can give me,

I think you are referring to the fact that new posts on Chit Chat don't go to the top. We do that for a reason. Chit Chat is one big "Off Topic" board. If the posts on Chit Chat floated to the top we could have one big Good Morning post that could be 500 messages long. We tried it the other way a couple of years ago and it didn't go over too well.

It is the only board that does not "float to top".

I understand that Chit-Chat doesn't "float" and why.

My problem is when I post a reply.

For example, say there are ten posts from the top down. You authored #10. I read it and want to say "Way to go, Mike!", so I post a reply. Now, on my screen, your post that was #10, is at the top and #'s 2-10 are not in the order they were, (i.e. "scrambled") so if I want to reply to another post, unless I've kept track of where I've posted, it's very difficult. If I close Cruisemate's and reopen it, everything is in order again. (Your post is #10 and #'s 1-9 are in order).

I know in the grand scheme of things this isn't very important , but it does stop me from posting as much as I would if everything would just stay lined up! If the "new" function worked (hey, it sometimes does!), at least I could see what I've already read!

Maybe it's just my poor old brain, and I should remember where I've posted!

Fern - to fix that, after you make your post and the topic is at the top, click on View All Topics and it will take you to the top of the Chit Chat board.

Yes, Lisa, I think you have nailed it.

Once you hit the post button, it only takes you back to the thread you have just responded to. To get the full page again click on view all topics.

I wasn't even sure my posts made any sense!

I'm going to use your suggestion now and I'm sure it will work.

Mike, I know how you feel. I think I need my 7 year old Grandson here to help me!

Now if you could just get the "new" function to work I'd be a happy CruiseMate!

Fern - I've given up on getting the "new" funciton to work. I think it is a CM plot to make us spend more time on their website...................<JK>
