Alaska in July
I will be sailing on the Infinity in July of 06, and was wondering if you could give me an idea on what type of clothes to pack, I know that its the summer month but don't think its going to be as warm there as it is where I am coming I need to bring all typs of clothing????

Any suggestions would be great!

You may want to read through the "Alaska Planning Guide", for tips including what to pack:

Alaska Planning Guide

You can pretty much expect to see some rain while you are on your cruise, so be sure to pack some rain gear. The best tip I got before we cruised in Alaska, is to dress in layers and peel them off as the day progresses. I packed a lot of t-shirts, a few sweat shirts, jacket, hat, gloves, etc. I even packed a pair of shorts, and yes, I was able to wear them 2 afternoons when the temps reached 70.

Have a great time!

We were in Alaska for 3 weeks from June 22 til July is summer there too and daylight lasts 23 hours so the key is pack light "layers". Always keep a fleece or sweatshirt hands - it can rain any time any place in the mountains. The temps ran from low-mid 70's to as hi as 85 degrees! At night (duh!) it doesn't get cool because the sun never really sets - if you blink you will miss the sunset/sunrise transition! I word short sleeves or tank tops and wrapped a hoodie around my waist just in case. Warning.....there are 52 varieties of flies that hatch in June-July near Denali and points north. They emerge hungry and in swarms if you are around the wilderness areas - not so in the cities. Use DEET it will deter all the insects up there
