Default carrying on water and cokes

Someone told me they carried on their own water and diet cokes is this allowed? We are traveling on Royal Carribean's Rhaspsody of the Seas.

Yes it's allowed and we do it on every cruise. You are allowed to bring a "reasonable" amount. We take a 12 pack of each in our carry on, keep a couple on ice, take a couple to bingo, buffet lunch or to the pool. For dinner, we have a drink, wine or ice tea. Have a great time.

we drink the ships purified water, just as good as the bottled water. We bring a couple of sports bottles per person, fill them when empty and keep them chilled.
We buy the soda cards.

The soda cards are good if you are a BIG soda drinker. We barely drink the 12 we bring during a 7 day cruise. Not sure of the cost on RCI but on the Sapphire Princess this past February, the soda cards were $28 for the week.

I know everyone thought we were crazy but we really like Diet Mountain Dew and I found out they didn't have any on the ship. So, I put several sixpacks of bottles(each in their own two gallon zip lock bags just in case) and we checked them in our luggage. We really enjoyed having them on the balcony watching the blue, blue water go by! The refrigerator in our room didn't keep them that cold but the steward was great about keeping ice in the room. I may be cheap but paying $2.50 per six pack vs. $2.50 or more per bottle saves more money to have fun with. Have a wonderful trip!!
