What to do with luggage while on post cruise excursion?

This is our third cruise, but we have never taken a pre or post cruise excursion, therefore I was wondering what we do with our luggage if we decide to do an excursion when we return to Miami. Our flight home is not until 8pm and we did not book transfers from the pier to the airport, we were going to take a taxi.

By the way we are travelling on Royal Caribbean, and I was considering doing the everglades tour. Also, we will have with us two ladies that are in there 60's, would this tour be appropriate for them or should we look at something else.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Gail,

If you do a post cruise excursion sponsored by RCL your luggage will go along with you.

We haven't done the Everglades Tour, but from what I've read I think it would be fine for your older ladies.

So I take it that the luggage stays on the tour bus that takes us to the excursion destination and then afterwards takes us to the airport.

I recently did a Princess ship's tour post cruise in San Juan. Our luggage was taken on a truck to the airport. Only our carry on things were taken with us on our actual tour bus. Our luggage was offloaded onto the sidewalk at the airport where we found it (again) after the bus dropped us off. There were a couple of "watchers" over the small sea of luggage, but it seemed a little less than secure to me.
