Default Health question

We are on a cruise. During the second week of the cruise we were diagosed with a stomach virus by the medial staff. We were both isolated in our room for 6-7 days. The ship's staff was very nice too us and took good care of us. The cruise line has offered us a $150 a day credit for the time we were isolated. Is this fair? Is it the going rate or should we expect more?

Thank you.

Divide how much you paid with by how long your cruise was. It should give you a fair idea although if you received $900 (based on what you claim $150 a day times 6 days) that ain't bad. You're lucky.

I am surprised that you were offered anything. I am also surprised that you were isolated for six days; it seems like an overly cautious length of time.

More than equitable. A ship is a contained environment and cruise lines will do what they need to in order to stop, even the possibility, of others contracting a communicable virus.

Your cruise contract states that the cruise line is not required to give any compensation.

Though it may have been a vacation ruining experience isolation is required so fewer, or no other passengers are effected.

I do agree that six days is a long period of time for isolation.

Take care,
Mike

What a bummer! Id be happy with the compensation, it seems fair considering it’s not their fault you got sick
