Catalina

Our itinerary says we stop at Catalina (apparently in the Dominican Republic). Can anyone tell me anything about this Island. Could it be Celebrity's private island. I can't find any information about it except for its location. Has anyone else sailed there?? thanks!

Calica is not Celebrity's private island. Don't be alarmed when you dock there.....it is nothing more than a rock quarry. But a short drive away is "Xcaret"
an ecological park that is just beautiful. It is a "MUST SEE". Xcaret has a web site .....possible www.xcaret.com (although I'm not 100% certain that is correct).

boy, I don't know what I was reading yesterday....but Catalina is Celebrity's private island....don't know why I thought it said Calica......I'm very sorry. (Must have had Survivor on my brain). When we did Catalina, we just did the bbq and hung out on the beach. I'm sure there is a tour of the island, but we chose to just relax and get some sun.

Thank you Mary Lou. I was thinking the Island had two different names. so they will have a barbecue on the beach for us and we can just sit around and relax if we want to. Sounds good to me.

Hey Mary could you post or send the address for Xcaret. Xcaret.com is not it. I am going to be there and was trying to figure out the differance between Cozumel and Calica. Celebrity has the Xcaret listed as an excursion from both. Very confusing.
