Rum Point, Grand Cayman

We are set to cruise over Turkey day 2003 on RCCL Exployer, and wondered if anyone has ever been to Rum Point beach, Grand Cayman. We are not interested in the cruise excursions for Grand Cayman but want to do some snorkeling, if November is not too cold, so we thought about taking the ferry over to Rum Point. We also visit Cozumel, any suggestions for either port? Not interested in swimming with the dolphins or sting rays. Thanks!
