I have done the dolphin swim in Cozumel and it was awesome. You and she would both love it. The swim is different than the encounter. With the encounter all you do is get to pet them...the swim lets you be pushed and pulled by them and it is well worth the price. I used dolphindiscovery.com to book it and it worked out great. I definitely recommend it!!
Is the water in the area you swim with the dolphins over 5 or 6 feet deep. ?? One of the people in our group is not an experienced swimmer and gets very nervous in water that is over his head. Do you recommend this for inexperienced swimmers? Thanks
Yes, most definately the water is over your head when you do the Dolphin Swim program. You need to be able to swim out in order for the dolphins to "push/pull" you back to a platform that you wait on to take your turn. They do make you wear life preservers however so they keep you afloat!!
If you do the Encounter, you pretty much stand on a platform the entire time. Not as much fun though as the interaction during the swim!
Yes, the water is over your head in the dolphin swim in Cozumel, but you will be wearing a life jacket and will float easily. When we did it there was a guide in the water with you telling you what to do.
