Hi all, I am in need of planning our tour in Montego Bay. We do not want to do any snorkeling or beach stuff here, because we will be doing that at the other ports. Is there any good tours for someone who is not that active - my sister's husband?
One suggestion for Montego Bay is to just stay on the ship and enjoy the peace and quiet while everyone is off running around doing nothing. The beaches are beautiful if you are a beach person. A sailboat tour is always nice.
we have done the river raft tour - its very relaxing, very interesting. you sit on these long bamboo rafts on a little padded seat, while your river guide gently poles the raft down the river, the scenery is beautiful.
My DH & I just returned 5/22 from the Conquest. I didn't like Montego Bay at all. The only thing that saved this port for us was "Sunset Beach". Its a gated resort that lets the cruise passengers come in for $20.00 per person. The beach is wonderful, it has chairs under shaded palms to sit on and all of the food, drinks and beach toys are free (kayaks, paddle boats etc). We got a cab for $4.00 to get there.
We ventured downtown MoBay and were eager to get back to the ship. Just getting into town from the pier was an adventure in itself. Once downtown everyone is pushing whatever they are trying to sell on you. The best thing to do is just walk on like they arent even talking to you. Yes it is rude where we come from, but it beats being followed around and feeling like you have to go into a store or you have to take a taxi ride or tour with someone. I have been alot of places and this is really the only place that I have felt the least bit scared and I even had my husband with me! We were back on the ship by 10am and loved it.
