Any suggestions for beaches in San Juan?? Are there any beaches close to the port?? We're not really interested in checking out Old San Juan and are considering whether to stay on board at this port of call, or try to find a beach to enjoy.
We also went to Isla Verde beach last year. It is a nice long beach that runs in front of the hotels in that area and is up by the airport. You could get a taxi to take you. There are places to buy food near the hotels, you probably could rent chairs if you wanted, we didn't do that, but I think you can. We were staying at a hotel pre-cruise, so we walked over to the beach, but if you ask your taxi driver, he can drop you at a good spot and tell you where to go to get a taxi back, probably in front of the large hotels. Have fun.
Grab a map (local bookstore, library) of Puerto Rico & look at some of the posts here. I heaard the beaches towards the Eastern end of the island are supposed to be nice.
