Having just learned our cruise is now leaving from Miami rather than NOLA (no big surprise). I am now trying to re-arrange my air tickets. Fort Lauderdale looks more promising for getting the days and times I want but I have never landed there and gone to the Port of Miami so I have a couple of questions.
1. What are some (relatively) economical ways to get from the FL airport to the Port of Miami?
2. How far is it from FL to the Port of Miami ?
3. Anyone know any economical hotels in FLL?
Thanks for any help.
We have gone through FLL several times and got the ship transfers to Port of Miami, RCCL and Carnival are both $32 round trip. It is just more convenient using the ship's shuttle; they are waiting for you when you arrive and they make sure you get off the ship in plenty of time to make your return flight. The ride is about 45 minutes depending on traffic so if you get a taxi, watch out, the cost could become a lot more. I don't know the distance in miles, the traffic is what causes the delay. We are cruising this October and staying at the Days Inn Hollywood for $79, they have a continental breakfast and free shuttle to and from the airport. We have also stayed at the Holiday Inn, it is a bit more expensive, but we just need a bed to sleep in so we went for cheap. We found we can get better flight times through FLL rather than MIA. So good luck, hope this helped you, if you have any more questions, please ask. Biebz
