A June cruise may be our only option (and yes, we know it's Hurricane season) but I've seen two different sites report on rain averages...from 8 inches to over 14 inches of rain in June. Thats a pretty big range. But with kids in school and limited chances to cruise any other time...we might have to take our chances. Any experience with this out there???
In fact, I did go to weather.com....like I said, reports of 8 inches in June and another site of up to 14 inches in June...so, rather than have some impersonal statistics...I'm looking for cruisers who have "been there/done that" in June! Thanks for the suggestion...
Thats why they are statistics one june wet another june a little wetter Who can predict mother nature...Ive been lucky and had dry days when I was there...
Again, yes, statistics....but as I said earlier, I'm obviously looking for something else...testimonials from people who have been there in the month of June. If all I was looking for were stats - I wouldn't have posted the question here...
Hello,
I always cruise in June due to the fact I have teenagers and school is
out. It has been nice with just an afternoon thunder shower and last
year June 2005 huge down pour late afternoon found out Tropical
storm was approaching but the captain of the Mariner got us ahead of
the storm and we had no problems. I think you might encounter rain
but not enough not to cruise in June. I have a cruise scheduled this
June and no concerns. I will say Cozumel streets did flood and it was a
mess but we still had a great time. Any more questions let me know.
D & I - thank you GREATLY for the response... We have only cruised once (late November) and sea days were "iffy" but port days couldn't have been more perfect. Like you - we have teenagers to please (as if that is possible...) but before we make the final committment I wanted to hear some commentary from experienced cruisers who have experienced it first hand. ...and speaking of hurricanes, I've had friends who cruised in Mid September and while driving into port was a little risky - they had fewer problems on the boat! You would never have guessed by their pictures that a storm was brewing! Again, thanks for the feedback!
