Default Panama Canal Rail Tour

My wife and I are interested in taking the Panama Canal Rail Road tour. We really don't want to go through the cruise line for the tour. Can anyone tell me if there is a tour company that I can alternatively book this trip with and is it worth the cost. Thanks

My wife and I took this tour a couple years ago and I am about 99.9% sure that it is only available through the cruise line. I know our ship sold out the whole train, which I believe is typical. Excellent tour, one of my all-time favorites.

We were on the rail tour in January. Definitely a high light but can only be done by the ship. If you decide to go try and get the domed car. Lots of beautiful scenery, history and a great look at the entire canal. We loved it.
Balboa and Panama City were very interesting. They also supply a nice snack on the way back.
