There is a jeep 4x4 tour through the island, parasailing, two person bubble submarine, horseback trail riding, and the jolly roger pirate boat and the "trolley" roger tour of Georgetown.

On my cruise leaving May 13, I'm booked on the Jeep tour to the other side of the island. I suppose I'll see how it is soon enough.

thanks all - re the jeep tour; is the terrain "ROUGH", like busting your ribs rough - I will be traveling with someone that has some health issues - I don't think it will be rough as I recall Grand Cayman is pretty much flat terrain.

Grand Cayman is flat terrain with a highest point a mere 63 feet above sea level. I doubt the jeep tour goes off of paved roadway, but even most of the marl (crushed stone) service roads are quite tolerable.

You may want to consider a trip to Rum Point. Its on the other side of the island and makes for a nice relaxing beach day. The water over there is absolutely beautiful.

On a previous trip to Grand Cayman, we went to Spanish Bay reef on the jeep tour. They let us snorkle in the cove, also a fresh water pool, provided lunch/ buffett, and there was a small band playing.
Very nice and relaxing.
We booked all of our shore excursions thru the ships. They offer the most.
One time we took a taxi around the island. It was expensive for what we saw. Not much in the way of good enertainment unless you pick one that the cruise line offers. Hope this helps

Our last trip to Grand Caymen, we rented a moped and drove ourself around the area. It was nice to be able to pull over anywhere to sight see. With sore ribs though, moped's aren't really an option.

I just did the "off the beaten path Jeep Adventure" in Grand Cayman. It was fun, but hot , so bring sunscreen and a hat. There isn't much shade. There is a some off road driving in Barkers National park which is largely a mangrove swamp. The rest is on paved roads and goes to some less crowded resort areas where one can snorkel if they wish. I didn't go in the water and those who did, didn't stay long. This was NOT the best snorkeling in the Caymans from what I could tell. The tour included lunch...a burger and punch.
It was easy except for driving on the left side of the road in a US steering wheel on the vehicle's left hand side. That created confusion so be very careful from traffic to the right. Also the hot sun was an issue !
I would recommend this tour to those like me who don't wish to swim. 8)
