Costa Rica or Panama

What excursions have you been on in these two places. I have heard reviews about the white water rafting but has ANYONE heard or been on the horsebackriding excursion in costa rica --- or the kayaking? What about panama (not interested in locks..........been there done that).

I'm leaving next week for a Panama Canal cruise. We tried to get horseback riding scheduled in Costa Rica, but needed four people and we were only two. Couldn't find anyone else interested (we'll be the only ship in port that day and usually that's a good thing--unless you're trying to find someone else that's interested in doing something specific!), so had to go with something else. Hope you have more choice through the canal that we do. Ended up with only one option for a tour--a Lake Gatun tour--which we booked and then had it cancelled on us! Bummer! We do want to see and experience the locks, etc., in the canal, but figured we'd have time to do that AND an optional tour. Guess we'll hit the mini-golf course. Shouldn't be too rough through the canal!

Thats the one I'm interested in -- the horsebackriding. I can't find ANYONE on this board that has been on the excursion with carnival for horsebackridig OR Zip lining. Both of which I want opinions for. Thanks for your help! Enjoy your cruise and please let us know what you did and how it was!

Panama is HORRIBLE!!!!! We were just there on the C arnival Miracle last week. This is our 9th cruise and we had never been there so thought it would be fun. WRONG!! Very dirty, unfriendly and dangerous. The locs are the ONLY thing that is there and they are not worth the hour drive from the port. We will never go there again.
