What to do in Guadaloupe?

We're looking for some suggestions for what to do in the Pointe A Pitre port area. Something other than a beach break as we'll have done beaches on previous days and not everyone in the group is able to "beach it" every day. There aren't that many excursions that Royal Caribbean offers so we were wondering what's available to do within walking distance of the port.
