5 weeks till cruise and I can't remember where I put our families birth certificates...UGH! I did find a copy of mine, is that ok? What do I do if I can't find the others?
I know that feeling! My fiancee could not find his either, but if you go to www.vitalchek.com, you can order an official copy of a birth certificate. It was about $13.95, but it came within a week! I hope this helps!
Darlene,
You can call your local vital records department(you can find the number in the state government pages in your phone book.) I went to the office and picked mine up same day. My husbands had his mailed - took about 3 days to get. It only cost $6.00/copy. But it might depend on the state you were born as to how long it will take...or how much it costs. Just another idea so you can weigh the options.
Isn't it funny how one can get anything and everything online now? Thanks for the web address Libby, I have shard it with some people around the office who were born out-of-state from here and are cruising soon.
I just ordered my husbands from vitwlchek.com, boy, there a rip off! It cost me $42.95! That was from North Carolina. I also ordered one from AR for my daughter and that one cost me $10. Oh well, at least now I know thery're coming soon!
Hi Darlene,
Glad you were able to get them. Something else to consider if you plan on more cruises, is to get passports, they are much easier to travel with and good for 10 years. Here is a link to obtain one:

Re: Can't find where I put our birth certificates
Hey Darlene...my daughter leaves for a land trip to Cancun on Monday. She just moved into her new home this past weekend and everything has been crazy...she just decided last night to dig out her birth certificate which should have been in her fireprooof box. Guess what, it wasn't and I don't have it in mine. Last time she used it was on a cruise in 2000. So.......she had to make a mad run to MD today to get one. Lucky for her we settled close to the state where she was born. If she was her older sister she would have been out of luck as we live in VA and oldest was born in CA.
You have to have either a certified birth certificate or a passport, I have already asked this question and that is the answer that I received. Good Luck.Darlene wrote:
