Has anyone been on the Fascination to Key West and Cozumel recently? If so, I need to know what night is the Captain's cocktail party and how was the ship. I've been on Carnival other ships, but this is the first on the Fascination. Can the soft drink cards be shared by family members, if the one who purchased the card get the drinks and pass them on? Any information will be appreciated.
Hi, I sailed the Fascination in August and think the Capt's. party was on the second night. I know we couldn't attend due to our early dinner seating time so we missed out on that. The soft drink cards can't answer we didn't buy them. We were going to buy one for the 16 year old with us, but she preferred the iced teas and punch which were free. Overall I liked the ship and think she was in decent shape for her age. The public areas were nice 'open' and never felt too crowded also well maintained. The main pool area (with the slide) on the Lido gets crowded early so get there early if you want a lounge chair close to the pool. There is a smaller (round) pool also a bit beyond the main pool area...less children! Cabins were standard Carnival size...roomy IMO I don't spend much time in the cabin so I have no complaints! Entertainment was good would give it a B+ food was average to above average no real complaints here. If you have any other questions about the ship feel free to email me would be happy to answer if I can.
The Captain's Welcome Aboard cocktail party is almost without fail, the second night (first full day of the cruise).
As to supplying the family with the purchase of one soda card .......
no one will follow you around to be certain you're the only one drinking from that glass, but would you buy a one size fits all sweater, and have the entire family crowd into it <G>
Let me know the schedule too. We are going
on the Fascin. on 31 Dec. Same trip. I am guessing
too that the Captain's party is second night. Have been on
cruises before, and it is never the first night - I think because
of the traveling conditions for folks and luggage catching
up, and some folks just make it on board before sailing. And
don't have the time to get to the beauty shop and get their
formal duds ready. First nights aboard ships are usually
casual. But am not sure what we will get New Years Eve.
Although, we are anticipating a dress up night of some
sorts for New Year's Eve - at least we are going to go
tie and jacket that night to celebrate the stroke of
midnight - hope it is in the Atrium.
Might get down to resort casually at midnight to boogy on
the dance floor.
