Parking at Miami port terminal

Could someone who has parked their car at the Port of Miami give me any information/advice? We will be spending the evening before the cruise at a nearby hotel and are wondering how early we can arrive and park. How close is the parking to the terminal? Do we drop of the bags then park or vice versa. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kim, It depends on the ship and terminal. Parking for the
Spirit is a curbs distance away and we just walked our
luggage to the terminal. We do the same for the other
ships as trying to drop the luggage off and then cross
the traffic to get to parking can be a nightmare. Guards
will direct you to your ships terminal. Parking is $10 per
day CASH only. We usually arrive at noon to find a
rush hour situation, but get boarded quickly, settle in and
make a day of it.
