I know I could look for my brochure for the answer, but you guys are so much quicker and I must say more knowledable.....Will I be able to cahs a personal check on board, you know, for emergencies like losing too much in the casino.....
I think it depends on which cruiseline, but usually, they will allow you to cash 1-2 checks during the cruise with the proper identification. I know I had now problem cashing travelers checks either. There are also ATM machines on some ships too.
Guests may cash one personal check up to $250.00 in U.S. funds, from a U.S. bank, accompanied by an American Express card. A check from a Canadian bank will be cashed at the current exchange rate onboard, not to exceed $250.00 U.S. Travelerís checks may be cashed at the Purserís Office. Canadian travelerís checks will be cashed at the current exchange rate.
I know exactly what you mean, don't want to run out of cash, but I bet you will be just fine, just keep track of all the charges you are putting on your sign/sail card, it does add up very quickly!
Enjoy your Spirit cruise, hear a lot of good things about that ship.
FORGET the checks and ATMs. Just use your Sail & Sign Card in the casino. Here's a link to an article I wrote about FREE money on cruise ships
