My husband and I are cruising to Jamaica on May 2, 2003. This is the "honeymoon" we didn't have when we first got married. We are departing from Miami, WOOOOOHOOOOO!!! Any ideas as to what we would need to pack, because we don't want to overpack. Also any tips on clothes to bring would be greatly appreciated. I read, on a previous article, that Carnival won't let you bring water or any other beverages. Any idea why that is?
We pack an outfit for each evening and also for each day while in port. For sea days we figure on wearing out bathing suits most of the day laying around the deck. Blue jeans are usually too hot to wear so leave them at home as well as any other heavy clothing, you won't need it. Bring lots of sunscreen and an extra floding suitcase to bring back all your treasures you found. As for the beverages, they are trying to stop those that want to bring on cases of sodas and beer. The money they make off these sales is the reason why cruisng is such a good bargain and the cheapest vacation you can find nowadays.
Don't discount the jeans! The casino and show lounges are freezing so you just might find comfort in jeans and a sweatshirt. On one cruise, I was just dying to put on jeans and a sweatshirt so on my next cruise, I made sure I brought them and I was so glad that I did!!
