My wife and I were on the Triumph for the Western Caribbean Sailing May 3, 2003. We loved it and hope to do it again soon.
My wife ended up having a medical emergency Thursday after we left Jamaica. The Medical team on the Triumph was excellent. Very knowledgable and resourceful. They saved my wife's life.
They needed to get her off the boat to a hospital but the US Coast Guard would not come to get us since the boat was still south of Cuba. The captain sped the boat up to get us east of cuba by early morning and the doctors convinced the Coast Guard to bring a bigger helicopter to come get us.
They picked us up around 6am Friday and flew us to Nassau, Bahamas. I am happy to report that my wife is recovering well.
We are hoping that someone on the boat may have some pictures of us being lifted into the helicopter. If you do, please email us. email@example.com
