I would like to know what the theme is for the Imagination as far as decor and public rooms are concerned. Also I would like to know when the last time this ship underwent refurbishing. I know it went into service in 1995 but I was wondering if it had been updated since then or not.
We were on the imagination in 2/03, the hallways look somewhat grecian, fairly tasteful. One of the bars is purple and yellow (yuck!). It is a fairly neon ship, although I didn't think it was overly gaudy. Rooms(regular staterooms) are a rose color. It's overall not the most gorgeous ship, but it was decent.
It's fairly nice for a Carnival ship. The walls of the atrium are lined with sphinxes with protruding nipples, don't know why. There are a lot of gilded statues around. There was a very nice bar that had paintings of old ships in it. That one was our favorite, very tasteful. I don't remember the name but if you walk around you'll find it, I think it was outside one of the dining rooms.
Now posting as MichelleP.
My g/f and I just got back from a 4 day sailing on the Imagination yesterday, and I plan on writing a pretty detailed review this weekend once I get caught up at work, but if you have any questions at all before then, I would be more than happy to email you anything you want to know.
Nice ship, not as gawdy as some Carnival ships. Hallway theme seemed to be cruise ships, there were drawings everywhere. Clean, classy, and staff were very friendly, also food was great! Best pizza ever!
