Just booked hubby and I on the Destiny Nov. 16th sailing. Yippee!!!!!!!!!
I'd love to hear from:
Anyone else going on the Nov. 16th cruise
Anyone who has been on the Destiny
Anyone who has suggestions on which port tours are best for St. Thomas, Martinique, Barbados or Aruba!
We just returned from a week on the Destiny. The tour-bus city tours we took in St. Thomas and Barbados were okay - nothing special. If you like the water, a beach-type tour may be better; the waters and sand are beautiful. Aruba was our favorite port. We booked the island tour offered on the ship; it was very nice. Since the island is only 6 miles by 20 miles, it's easy to see most of it on one tour. You can also tour the island by jeep, atv, or motorcycle. All of the beaches are public, and there are some nice ones not too far from the cruise terminal. Our tour guide said that for $ 1.25 per person, you can take public transportation from the ship to the beaches behind the Marriott and adjacent resorts. There are a lot of shops within walking distance, but be aware that most of them close around 6 pm. There are several clubs close by, which are open later into the evening. You'll be in port in Aruba until 11:00, so you have plenty of time to take in a lot.
Were you satisfied with the cruise? Were the shows good? Food good? Comedians?
I am so EXCITED. This will be my 5th cruise with Carnival - and I've been satisfied with all but one - which was last year on the Holiday. I'm hoping that was a rare exception and that the Destiny will be a great experience.
