Booking with a travel agent or not

We are planning a cruise in January 04 and was wondering if we should stick to a travel agent. In the past we have always utilized an agent but internet prices seem much lower. Does anyone have any advice on this subject. Thanks in advance.

Our TA was able to match any online price I found. We have never booked a cruise online but do book hotels and car rentals. I want to be able to call my TA for anything. Enjoy.

For for 10 years we always used a travel agent then one day I was on a travel site and saw a great price for a cruise that was unbelievable, we now book only through the internet.

Internet IS through a TA unless you go directly to the cruiselines website. I always recommend a TA. Check out the deals offered by the agents that advertise here at Cruisemates at the Cruise Bazaar.

If you want to start and get a basic idea on prices and availability, post in the "bargain finder" here at Cruisemates:

You should get some feedback from travel agents via e-mail and give you some ideas as to what cabins will cost, hope this helps, its always a good place to start.

We have researched available cruises on the internet, then bookedthrough the cruise line directly, or on line.

Find the cruise and bargain price online and print it then go to your TA and have her/him match the price. That's what I did this time around because I couldn't see booking my 6th cruise without her. Have a great cruise!
