Will Carnival still allow passengers to choose the "old" tip w/cash in an envelop on the final night method? I have done that in the past yr. on Royal Caribbean. When we were on the Pride 2 yrs. ago they let you tell the purser's desk this is what you preferred. In that particular case our room stewardess even said she preferred knowing who gave her what and getting her money right away. Wonder if that is still possible (on Fascination, in particularly). We never undertip and generally tip MORE than suggested, but don't like the predetermined style of tipping.
Thanks for any info!
We usually just give them the "extra" amount in cash...letting them know what was put on the sail and sign card wasn't enough. That might be an option for you if they don't allow you to give it all in cash.
You can still tip the old fashioned way. We do it all the time instead of the auto-tipping. Tips are personal and should be handled in a personal manner with an expression of appreciation to those that have served us so well during our cruise.
Our room purser was wonderful and he was tipped extra in cash on the first day (did several extras for us as requested), a couple of days into the cruise again and then an additional envelope at the end of the cruise - I think we tipped approximately $40.00 extra over the sail and sign amount. He was well worth it.
