Baggage Tags
On my baggage tags it has a space left open for a flight number. We did not get the fly/cruise package. Do I just just leave the space blank? I don't want to go down there and find out my luggage won't be coming with me! Also I have heard about colors of the tags and debarktation being related. Are they? Mine are pink.

Re: Baggage Tags
If you are not flying..then no you do not put anything in that area. You just answered your question about colored tags...

Re: Baggage Tags
We book our own flights and I go ahead and put the information on the tag...however, I usually don't put the tag on the luggage until we get it from baggage claim.
They do call out colors as they disembark people...however, I have yet to determine which colors go when. |
Re: Baggage Tags
The order in which colors are called is determined by US Customs and will vary from sailing to sailing.

Re: Baggage Tags
I would suggest that you make a back-up tag with your full name on them...
The tags that they provide are a little flismey on the tie off... I use bright yellow plastic strips & cable tie them to each piece of luggage... If your provided luggage ties get torn off they can look up your name on the master list so you can get your luggage... |
Re: Baggage Tags
I put the extra tag on the inside of my luggage, just in case the one on the bag comes off. Have you ever seen the mountain of luggage the load on the ship?

Good Idea! Thanks!

Re: Re: Baggage Tags
Another good idea is to use a twist tie also to secure those tags to your luggage. Those scimpy little white elastic strings don't look like they will hold up too well. We did this and felt much better knowing those tags ain't coming off for nothin'!

Re: Baggage Tags
During most Carnival cruises they ask you to wait in certain areas or in the main lounge until your color is called so the room stewards can start cleaning the cabins for the next anxious cruisers to get on!

Re: Baggage Tags
We didn't put our tags on until we were ready to get on the ship. We booked our flight separate as well. We did put our return flight number on the tags. If you have registered for the Carnival Fun Pass yet, they want to know all of your return flight information. Our travel agent gave us 2 extra tags that we kept, but nevered needed. The elastic on the tags are sturdier that you think, we had them on thru the entire cruise, took a bus excursion, had a lay over in Alanta and the tags arrived in Ohio in perfect shape!

Re: Baggage Tags
Our carnival provided luggage tags stay on like 99% of the time. I think we have had 1 fall off over 3 carnival cruises which added up to about 100,967 pieces of luggage. hehe, they are pretty durable. On our 1 RCCL cruise, i did like their system of luggage tags and wish carnival would catch on. They are like the airport tags, with one big piece of tape and u tear off the bottom and stick it to the top. They are all pre-printed and came with our documents. that was nice.
