RENTAL CAR AT KAHULUI IN MAUI

Has anyone rented a car at Kahului in Maui and stayed overnight on the ship?? I need to know if there is parking there at the peir . We will be renting a car for 2 days and not sure about where to park for the night.

I was on the Carnival Spirit last October. At that time they allowed some free overnight parking right at the entrance to the pier. There was only about 20 - 30 spots available though so get there early in the evening to get one of those. Otherwise they have another larger, free lot about a block away. Good luck and don't keep any valuables in the car.

I don't guess we'll get one of the close in spots because we're going to the luau at Lahaina.
How did you like the Spirit? Any "don't miss the....." tips for us?

The Spirit was a great, fun boat to be on. Still had that 'new smell'. The entertainment was a little lame at times, but on a twelve day cruise I guess the good stuff gets spread thin. If you plan on emailing much be sure and purchase the larger package of minutes. You'd be surprised how many people you want to write to and brag about being in Hawaii. Try to rent a 4WD vehicle and take the road to Hana. Then, instead of backtracking, continue on around. The road gets a little bumpy in some places and even washed out in others. (Thus, the reason for the 4WD) But it is a beautiful and awe inspiring drive. Kihea/Wailea beaches for good snorkeling and pretty sunsets. And, Lahaina for good shopping, eating, and night life.
