All Carnival ships have self serve coin operated laundry rooms with the free use of irons and ironing boards.

I suppose it's a fire hazard.

Mind you, I would never do this, but I know people who do bring irons, use a bath towel over the cabin's little table as an ironing board, and use SUPREME care with the device.

Don't use the bedspread under the iron! It could melt!

When fully cooled, the iron is kept out of sight. Don't know whether cabin steward is dutybound to confiscate it!

Anyway, just think of the guilt if you burn down the ship. Be careful.

Or, use the ship's laundry service for pressing.

Hmmm..that doesn't sound like to good advice to me. I would just use the iron in the laundry room. Maybe get all your ironing done the first day while everyone is exploring the ship so you don't have to wait in line!

Just my opinion...

Michele

I agree w/neonturtle, I would not suggest bringing an iron on a ship. God forbid someone forgets to turn it off or whatever....I wouldn't want anyone pointing a finger at me for having to evacuate the ship!

..same with candles and other items that could cause major problems in the middle of the ocean....there are irons to use in the laundry room...

Enjoy!

I heard steamers are fine--try that. I tried that Downy wrinkle free stuff everyone suggests here, but it doesn't really work!

Thank you all! I didn't know there were irons in the laundry rooms. I'll take my steamer, too. I wouldn't dare sneak one in! You all are the best! Happy cruising!

I just got back from the Inspiration and I brought a steamer. I worked ok on the things that weren't really wrinked. I did use the irons in the self serve laundry room. Only had to wait once.

You can always do it the old fashioned way and hang your clothes in the bathroom as you shower...This always works for me, but I take super hot showers. And depending on the fabric, in my experience, the Downy Wrinkle release has worked really well...You just have to spray kind of a lot of it and then pull downward really hard.

I suppose the iron in the laundry room would be easier though

Yes, that's right if your iron is found it will be conviscated. There is a good reason for the "no iron" policy. The ship has Firemen, but they really don't want to have to use them.
