Has anyone played golf on the eastern cruise. My son is a single digit handicap (at 14) and I can't break 100. Would love to hear about your experiences.
Let's try again! I can't believe that no one has played golf on a Carnval cruise or has some info about the golf excursions. If no response, I'll let this tread die, but I have to give it one last try at the top!
my son plays on the freshman team and can beat me hands down he has only been playing for two years. Mohagany run in st thomas is a must play if your going that way
some friens of ours went in the dominican republic
they are both very good golfers

I think 195 per person and then 10 or 20 more bucks for a caddy

a highly rated course but at the last minute the plans were changed
to a different course
this ticked them off a bit because they paid for teeth of the dog and got
some other course and so far carnival hasn't refunded any money
On the Eastern itinerary, you can play golf in St. Thomas (most popular), St. Maarten, and San Juan. It is VERY expensive, and I would NOT recommend bring your own clubs, especially if you're flying into the embarkation port. The airlines just love to charge you loads of $$ to haul them for you. Shoes and gloves...yes. Clubs...no. Also, it's really HOT in those ports, especially from about May through October. Can also be rainy.
I think I"ve posted this many times and I don't think anyone has ever checked it out but please do and it'll tell you everything you need to know about golfing with a Carnival cruise.
Is the 195 or so for a round of golf, just the greens fees? I figure there is a club rental fee, but does Carnival also charge (as an excursion) a fee for transportation to and from the course. Just wondering if when all is said and done the cost may approach 300/round (yikes, I could play Pebble for that!)
