I have read here that TA's hold blocks of rooms on Cruises. But when the cruise approaches they start to let go of these blocked rooms.
How long in advance do they start to do that? I do not think it was to clear in the previos posts.
I am just getting to exicted about my cruise... and also I have a GTY cabin.... so I keep checking the bookmodify trick... plus also I have made a note of cabins that were available on certain websites... and checking to see if they have sold... or if new ones are now out there..
Some large travel agencies hold blocks of rooms on many sailing dates. Small mom and pop agencies normaly don't hold cabins like that.
The big guys may release the rooms like 30 days prior to the sailing. But good luck I had an Inside gte on the Miracle in June. I used the methods I got on this site to determine the room but when I got to the peir it changed! I was bumped to a partially obstructed balcony cabins. Was a wonderful surprise.

The above post is correct, also the cruise lines do call the travel agencies to see if they still need all the cabins on hold, so that they can release the extra space.
