Hi CB,
There is really no sure way to get an upgrade, you may want to talk to your travel agent and see what it would cost to upgrade, sometimes its not very much. Here is also a link to a good article that explains upgrades:

Cabin Upgrades

Did you book a gty. room? One of the reasons most people book a guaranty is they want the possibility of an upgrade - for free.

We just went on the Conquest and we never got any upgrades. The ship was full. There was a note at the desk saying all rooms were filled.

Dorthy,
I assume by gty you mean guarunteed room. I know that we have our room number already, however I am not sure if that is a gty room. If it is not a gty room are we out of luck or can we switch it to a gty room.
All though this is our second cruise, we are still really new to the cruise industry. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hi CB,
It appears that you booked a specific cabin and not a guarantee catagory...You would book a guarantee when you first make a deposit on your cruise, so the cabin you booked will most likely be the cabin you get once you are onboard. Here is a link to a good article that explains booking a guarantee:

Guarantee Cabin

This is something you do at time of booking, this will also be priced differently than booking a specific cabin. By booking a guarantee, its taking a gamble, you should always book the catagory you would be happy with, in most cases, thats what you would end up with.

Hope this explains it a little better for you?
