does anyone have any suggestions on this matter???
when i went to register for Fun Pass 3 weeks ago i realized that my TA had my first and middle names switched around and this is something i cannot change online myself. i have asked my TA to correct the problem several times, but it still has not been corrected. she says she sent in paperwork to carnival to correct it, but now she's not returning my phone calls or emails! i'm also worried b/c i payed my final payment over a month ago on my debit card and it still hasn't come out of my bank account. i called carnival, but they aren't allowed to give me any info and they say my TA has to correct my name. what is going on here!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????? my cruise is 10/3/04 (less than 5 weeks away). has anyone else had this problem before?? what if i get my documents and my name is wrong???
Maybe you can call Carnival and tell them your situation. Ask to talk to a supervisor and see if there is anything that you can do. If you are registered on the Carnival website, then you are booked, but if your TA is not responding, there has to be something that Carnival can do for you. As far as your money not coming out of your account yet, that is kinda strange. Mine came out right away. Maybe check with your bank and see if there was ever a hold on that amount. I would try to force Carnival to help you. I am not sure if this helps, but I hope you get this resolved.
i'm just starting to get a little worried. i called carnival twice and explained my situation, but i guess they have some sort of confidentiality thing with the TA's on releasing any info. this sucks. this is my honeymoon cruise and i'm more stressed out with this than the wedding. i'm going to be pissed if something's wrong. i've taken 12 cruises and never had a problem like this....of course it would be the honeymoon cruise!!
will i be charged if my name is incorrect?? would they not let me on the boat??
the TA is a homebased agency & it's about an hour and a half from where i live. i booked it on the internet........not sure how to reach "management" if she's the owner. she IS affiliated with an agency on the otherside of the US, but she's independent. not sure how that works. i wonder if carnival would call her if i asked them too? surely she'd call THEM back, but that may be a little far fetched, huh?

about $50 cheaper. the TA is a group specialist who had a group booked, but had extra cabins available so it was a little cheaper. i made 2 payments prior to my final payment and thay went through just fine........just not sure what's up with this!
kissell..I feel very bad for you..hopefully this will be resolved in time for you to enjoy your cruise..I will certainly keep my fingers crossed for you..but it does raise an interesting question...
Which cruisemates book through the internet and who chooses to go to a local TA that they can drive to if a situation like this arises? I keep looking at internet prices, but so far am too scared to book a cruise online because of just something like this.
Sure hope you don't have to make that 1 1/2 hour drive, Kissell! But if you can't get her to call you back.....

just a thought--tho it may not really help you at the moment--you said she was home based--could she be out of town?? if she is hopefully she'll return and get it straightened out real quick. I also posted another post on the other thread about checking carnivals site under the modifybooking page--at least you might be able to see if your account has been credited or if there was still a balance.
If she does not call or email you back in a week..I would make that drive and sit in front of the business and wait for her..she will have to talk then. If that does not work, call your local Better Bus Bureau..they might can get her on the ball. Hope it works out for you.
Name changes on docs can be done at the pier if necessary but there is a $50 fee. I know this because a person in our group had to do it last year. We didn't discover this mess until about two weeks before sailing. His first name and middle name on his drivers license and docs were switched from what it said on his birth certificate. Also, his middle name on his birth certificate was spelled in the spanish version of his name, the docs and drivers license were the english version. He was told by Carnival that he must have a picture ID, birth certificate and docs all with the same name or he could be denied boarding. He might have slipped through had he not made the changes and had a new ID made but he could have also been left behind waving good bye to all of us too. He didn't want to take the chance and did what Carnival suggested. It did take several calls to Carnival by myself and our TA to get it straightened out so keep trying. I would think your TA would be the one to handle this for you though. In my friends case, it was his fault, not the TA's but she still was a big help.
Hope you get it straightened out.

i can't access the Book Modify section b/c i'm under a "group booking" which doesn't show up on the carnival website. i'm not with a group, but my TA had booked a group and had some extra cabins to fill.
