carnival/victory- News Years

My family of 5 (5,12,13), are going on our FIRST cruise to the eastern carribean for New Years on the Carnival Victory.

Reserved 6e or better (any downside to this?). Exact cabin assignment won't be known until 1 week before. I would like all comments regarding this Ship for this New Years cruise regarding alll topics. All advice would be appreciated.

Best cabin location? Best on deck location? Meals? Ports? Bars? Deck Location? Pools? Embarking? Entertainment? Adult only locations? etc?
