Hi! I'm new here. My husband and I just booked our second Carnival cruise (first was in 2001), ans we'll be taking the Imagination on 3/28/05 to Grand Cayman and Ochos Rios. We booked through the Carnival website (the previous guest upgrade made it the same price whether we booked through Carnival or a separate agency). Well, we *started* to book through the website, but there was a glitch in our registry, so I ended up calling and finishing the booking directly with a Carnival rep. Anyway, when I placed the booking, I was able to chose a specific cabin (E3, to be exact). Now, here's the question -- am I guaranteed to get that exact cabin, or will it simply be a cabin of the same class? The agent I spoke to seemed to sound like that would be our exact cabin, but I keep reading info about how to find out your cabin number 7 weeks before the cruise because that's when Carnival assigns them. Thanks!
From what I understand, you will be assigned a cabin right before the cruise if you just booked an inside cabin, for example(didn't select the cabin number). If you selected a cabin number, that will be your cabin. In rare cases, they will bump you up a notch to a better cabin. Most likely, you will keep that same cabin.
