Default victory rating on website

i w as just on a w ebsite for carnival where they show tours of the ship, do ratings with stars, give all statistics and the Victory was only given 3 1/2 stars which i believe was almost a good experience. that is the way it was stated.what goes here? anyone take these ratings real seriously. we are on the victory in july. we are going and going to have a wonderful time ,because it is a family trip and jjust being on a ship like this for a whole week and those beautiful islands, what else could you ask for.

it seems like a lot of people on this message board are going on cruises two or three times a year. i guess they go on different ships and can really compare. we have not been on a cruise in fifteen years and the other seven family members have never been on one. i would guess we will all be in awe when we board the victory. i would imagine every time you go on a cruise, you can think of things that could be better.

it all looks wonderful to me, sitting here looking at the snow blowing and the temp is about 15 degrees. it actually looks like heaven. any one have an opinion on these ratings? let me know. if it is not positive and/or good opinions do not tell me. thanks

Gotta be honest - I was on Victory last July & was pretty disappointed. The ship itself was decent, except for the fact that you can't get from Point A to Point B without being funneled through the bars, shops, & casino on Deck 5. Oh, & the smoke...this is 1 very smoky ship. The dinners were very good. Late night buffets were not that special. The worst part was the crew (with the exception of the dining room staff). Most of the crew were very distant, didn't seem to have any interest in the safety & comfort of the guests.

If you're in St. John's, New Brunswick, DO NOT get conned into taking the "Ride the Rapids" excursion, or jet boat or whatever they call it. It's a boring ripoff.

I hope you have a better time than we did.

Patticake,
You will find that, if you go with an open mind, and a good attitude,(leaving behind your everyday stress) 99% of the time you'll have a good, or even a great vacation.
So keep a positive outlook, and I hope you have a wonderful vacation and cruise.
happy sailing;
david
