Default Question about Nature at Cozumel Park

Ok I have a real phobia of snakes, scared to death of them. Would I be safe going to look at the botanical gardens while at the Park in Cozumel or should I stay away. It is a nature place so I am assuming it is possible that they will be around but is it something I should be concerned about.

Thanks.

I didn't see any snakes while I was there, just iguanas.

It might help your phobia to know that snakes are waaaaay more interested in staying away from you than you are in staying away from them!

You shouldn't have any trouble if you stay on the beaten path.

I've read a heckuva lot of reports on Chankanaab and botanical gardens, and I've been there myself, but I've NEVER heard anything about snakes. I'm sure somebody would have reported seeing them if they were there.

Ok I feel better now. I have no problems with iguana's but snakes and me just don't get along. I probably wont travel to much of the nature trails but I do want to see the gardens. I have heard they are beautiful. Thanks.

Never have seen snakes there and I've tried to get some iguana pictures. They are everywhere, but don't worry, they don't fall out of trees on your or anything. I'll bet you will be a whole lot more interested in them than they are of you. Critters always run off when I try to take their picture!

Nope, no snakes. My wife would still be there, dead and rotting away by now if she had ever seen a snake there. <G> Maybe the Iguanas eat them or something but I have never ever heard of any there. Now understand that these Iguanas get very big and look intimidating but they will run from you and if cornered where they cannot escape will just smack you hard with that tail.

I've seen several iguanas while walking through the botanical gardens, but the ones I saw looked almost like statues - never moved off those big rocks they were sitting on - nothing moved but their eyes. Kinda creepy, but.........
