Jill and Larry.. have a WONDERFUL pre cruise and cruise. Can you tell I'm GREEN with envy of all of those doing back 2 backs!! Back 2 backs in the med and the crossing... be still my heart!
Hope you have John Heald and the crew all broken in and ready for our arrival by the 21st.
We are all getting whipped into a frenzy as our docs arrive and some of the people doing B2B's and extended pre-tours are actually leaving. How exciting! I just can't waiiiit!
Still trying to think of a cool Florida gift to bring. Hmm..maybe since I grew up in Massachsetts I can bring a big state tax bill or a Ted Kennedy Blow up doll--yuck--or a matchbox car frozen into a block of ice...lol I'll stick to FL...I can trade aplam tree for a nice pine tree from the Carolinians!
In all seriousness however, I hope things are moving along in a positive direction regarding your mother.
Oh, hey I was wondering if you guys would consider a weekend 3 or 4 day cruise as a Cruisemates group cruise. I have little vacation time but would love to go with the group if it were a short getaway one that fell on a weekend. The cruises listed sound absolutley faaahhhbulous and are at great rates plus perks, etc., but I just don't have the time off.
Anyway I think we are down to three weeks til the Liberty!! woo hoo!

Having the same problem Paige. Went to Disney the other day looking and came away with nothing. Doesn't seem like Disney has anything $10 or under. I'm assuming that it is one gift per person. Is that right Kuki?
Thanks for the great name tags. Was so nice of you to do that.
Starting to fold and pack the things that won't wrinkle. Have set aside a portion of a closet for the hanging clothes and am collecting all the misc items. It's really getting close now.

Has any one booked a private tour with Strawberry World Tours in Madeira? I noticed they have some pretty good prices. The prices for almost everything in that area are very good. I pulled this off a website. "Prices are surprising: a la carte entrees from $2.00 to $4.00 in most restaurants, full dinners as low as $5.00. Local beer is $.35, a martini madeira wine $.64, scotch $1.00." With prices like those, some people may have trouble finding their way back to the ship.
One thing I'd like to do is visit the Botanical Gardens. Wonder if the flowers will still be blooming? Seems like the weather should be pretty mild there.
I just noticed at the bottom of the article, it says, "Caveat and disclaimer: This is a freelance travel article that I published some time ago. Some data, especially prices and contact information, may not be current." So much for that 35 cent beer.
Hi all.. of a little pre cruise getaway. Sending a note from Las Vegas. Arrived EARLY this morning, and we're here until Monday afternoon.
Temps are in the 90s, so may get a chance to work on my cruise tan
Attending Andre Agasse's annual charity event tomorrow night, and the wedding of some Vegas friend's son on Sunday night.
Will spend the weekend in pre cruise training.... EATING
Hoping when I get home next week we hear a scheduled date for my mother's new pacemaker installation...so we can then pack for the cruise with a relatively clear head.
OCT 24 Liberty Sailing Cabin Numbers, please check
Hi guys,
Here is a list of cabin numbers I have. If you do not see your cabin listed, and you are booked on this cruise it means you have not notified me that you would like to be in the directory. This would also be a good time to let me know if you have had a change in cabin. I am only listing cabin numbers in this message and not names. Names will be in the final product. This is just a last minute check. Please advise if you wanted to be listed and do not see your cabin number.
Actually you and Helen are on my list and since you posted I noticed a typo in my post . I will fix it immediately. Would not want to omit two of our favorite folks . Thanks for pointing this out. Shows that in proofing one should do more than count the number of entries! I promise you are not excluded. Can't wait to see you and Helen again. Post should now be correct.
I think Kuki in in 8217, Tweety on 8221 and we are in 8229. Now, if the folks in 8225 are friendly, we could make one really long balcony to have a party.
As a last resort, we could have them arrested in some port and then take over their cabin!
Sounds like a plan to me. I would happily trade places and then you would have that long balcony. As far as I can tell, those folks aren't in our group, or, they don't want anyone to know they are traveling with us.
I don't know, can we really blame them for not wanting to admit they know us? Would have been great if you had been there in the middle Linda. But you aren't far away.

Is that 9246 me and Tommy? I forgot our cabin #! But I know its in that area. Deck 8 looks like a lot of fun! Love the giant balcony idea--like a private yacht among friends.
Kuki is all well with Mom? I hope so.
See you guys very soon!

PS count me in for Cruise of the Century-plenty of time to plan it hought it was THIS December.
I've been hesitating posting anything more about my mother's health situation until we had a more detailed plan from here doctors.
She has been feeling ok, and stable... just a bit anxious knowing they want a different pacemaker for her, and knowing the battery is low in the one she has now.
Dr. called her yesterday to say that it won't be until Jan. that they can get approval for her new device. STRANGE goings on. Then told her in 2 weeks he'd have her in to change the battery on her current pacemaker.
THEN.. called her back, and said they'd test her pacemaker Thurs (of this week) and if he feels she'll be ok, he wants to simply do nothing and wait until Jan.
It's all too weird, and I don't know what to think. She is of course, telling me to go cruising, that she'll be fine. Hopefully after her appointment Thurs. the Dr can reassure me that she'll be OK to wait for Jan.

I'm in 8207 and if the people in 8211 are friendly we could make one really, really long Balcony
Yes, paige, that is what I have on my list for you and Tommy.
We only have the Jeep Rally booked so far and like Kuki, will fly by the seat of our pants on the rest.
Kuki, I am holding good thoughts for your Mom and the pacemaker battery issue. Let's hope all goes well for her so you can have an enjoyable cruise.
To those of you leaving soon, I wish a safe journey and we will see you when we get there. I know it won't be long now, but the days seem to be creeping at this point.
Repeating what I said about the Baggage limits. Reminder most airlines have now reduced the baggage limit weight from 70 lbs to 50 lbs for International flights. If your weight for one bag is more than 50 lbs you will be charged a fee. We still are allowed 2 bags per person. Be sure you distribute the weights.
We are flying American Airlines and I know the above is true of the limits for them. And I know that Delta has the same limits. Be sure you check with the Airline you are flying with from the States to Rome to be sure.
I am supposing this reduction has to do with fuel cost. The less weight the aircraft is carrying the less fuel it will use. Anyone want to discuss this issue?

If you're flying on American Airlines, and your ticket was issued before Oct lst, you're still allowed 70# on international flights. Tickets issued after Oct 1st, the limit is 50#.
Ray I love your signature block. I wish I had what you guys have. How rare and wonderful.

Hope to see everyone in the Liberty chat this Sunday.
This time next week I'll be somewhere between here and Rome
This weekend we start to get the luggage vaults ready. Mrs. Kuki saw all the prizes I've accumulated to take, and wondering where the heck we're going to put our own clothes.
