We have booked 13 friends and family on a Carnival Cruise. Since some were past guests and some were not, they split the past guests up ( on paper) and placed them in rooms with the non past guests. We did this through a travel agent, but when we called Carnival directly, they were going to do the same thing. Now we are faced with a dilema we foresee coming. When we check in at the ship they will be giving us cards for rooms that we will not be in. We thought that what we could do was give a credit card for the actual person that would be using the room key and then exchange cards. But, the cards have photos on them, so this will make it impossible to buy anything on the ship. Is it possible that when we check in that they will allow us to have room cards and sail cards issued to the right people will really be staying in?
Don, had to do the same thing once, but for a different reason. My twin son who is 22 years old and his live in girlfriend is only 19, Carnival would not let them book a room together because neither one of them was over 25 and they weren't married. What we did was this. My son and I booked one cabin, my wife and his girlfriend booked the other. The same credit card was used for the s & s cards for both my wife and myself. My sons bank debit card was used for the s & s cards for both him and his girlfriend. Once we boarded the ship we went to the pursers desk and asked for a room key only card for the people (my son and my wife) who will be switching from the (on paper only) rooms. It worked out great because all my wife and my charges went to us and all their charges went to them. Although my son and my wife had to actually go to the original rooms to check their respected s & s accounts on the on board system through the TV, because you can only check in the original booked cabins. This also is only available on the newer Carnival ships. Ricky
Weren't your billings and luggage sent to the wrong cabins though.
We are set up to do this because of the same reasons, my son and his girlfriend have never cruised on Carnival, and I have many times. So I am booked in his room and she is booked with my friends in ours. We just have to get extra keys I guess, but maybe we can put the luggage tags on the opposite cases,,,,,but billing will still go to wrong room. Oh well can't have everything.
Okay, I have some of the same problems. I will be sailing in July my husband and son has a room booked and my son's girlfriend and I will have a room booked. When we board I will be putting everything on my credit card because this is a gift to my son and his girlfriend so that will not be a question, and I can get an extra key to my understanding. The only other question would be the luggage. I will just put my name and my son's luggage and his name on my luggage so the luggage will go to the correct room. I didn't get special rooms so we may not be on the same deck, but if we just change the names out that would work. Am I forgetting anything.
We cruised last february a year ago and it was two couples in two rooms all under the age 25. I just cruised with my girlfriend and we shared the same room we are 23. This year we are going in June with her parents and we had no problem with our rooms.... not sure of the problems?
