INFO ON ST THOMAS???

Hi all, I am wondering... is St. Thomas the same as St. John? I am confused....lol Also, St. Marrten has 2 sides to it correct? I am hoping we will have the time to see it all while in port.
People say to rent a car, but we've never been to the Islands, therefore I would not know WHERE to drive to!!! ahhhhhwhat to do hahaha

You can take a ferry from St. Thomas to St Johns (or back ), so they are not the same island

Every island has at least two sides
St. Maarten just happens to have two countries, on separate sides of the same island
And the island is small enough that you should be able to see some of both the French and Dutch side. Not a difficult island to find your way around, so no need to worry about getting "too lost" if you drive there.

If you didn't stop, it's only about a 1 hour drive to get all the way around the island.

St.John is a small island off of St. Thomas, you have to take the water taxi to get there. Most of St. John is a national park, great beaches with amazing snorkeling.
St. Maarten is two countries sharing one island. There is the Dutch side and the French Side. Both have beautiful beaches. There is really good snorkeling here also.
If you want to tour the island i think its a great idea to hire a cab for a couple of hours, you get a locals perspective.
