Default Friends Sailing on Feb 27th need help

We have some neighbors leaving on Monday for a 4 day cruise on the Carnaval ship Paridise. We have never sailed on Carnaval nor have we taken a 4 day Cruise so we are no help with answers. They would like to know what is the dinner attire for a 4 day Cruise. And is there still a Formal night?? You all have been so Helpful to me with my questions for my next sailing and I thank you for that.

Hi

I'm not an expert but from others I've heard that on all Carnival cruises there is at least one formal night even on the three and four day cruises. There is alternate dining if they do not wish to get dressy. For those nights suits and cocktail dresses are also appropriate. Tuxes and long gown are nice but you don't have to wear them. Sundresses and docker type pants are just find for the dining room for the other evenings.

If you just want to wear shorts and tank tops, you can dine in the buffet every night and not worry about it at all but the dining rooms are very nice and the food is more upscale.

hope this helps

Thank you so much Dina. But is it necessary for a man to wear a suit any more on formal nights or is just a jacket tie and nice slacks ok?? So much has change in the last 5 yrs since I have cruised just wonderd if they have gotten anymore relaxed.

On our four night on the Inspiration the formal night was our first night at sea. Most of the men wore suits and ties. A few were in tuxes. I didn't see any men without at least a sport coat, dress slacks, shirt & tie.

There are alternate dining options if you really don't want to dress up for the formal night. The buffet is quite nice and you can wear whatever you want there. For the formal night in the dining room, I don't recall seeing men without at least a sport coat.
