Default Two Way Radios ?

I have heard these are great to stay in touch. But I have also heard they don't work well on the ship. I would love to hear opinions on how well they work and what kind I should buy! Thank you for your help

We have the COBRA file mile range ones and I've found they work very well. Whatever you decide to buy make sure you have ones with lots of sub-channels. There will be quite a few people on board with them and you want to make sure you get a clear channel. We bought the ones with the charger base so we didn't have to bring a bunch of batteries with us.

5 of us went. I brought them and never found a need. Also with all the talk about having them on board I think I only heard one person using them. But bring them just in case you never know. Ohh and if you are going on the fascination I lost one of mine so if you find it give me a call. Come to think of it I don't understand how we lost one when we never used em. also never used the power strip, duct tape but the bungee cord was a great idea.

They do work, and they work rather well. Even with an inside cabin, I can receive transmissions from the kids almost everywhere on the ship. Up at the pool deck, I communicated with my wife, onshore at Grand Cayman. Just make sure to either take plenty of batteries, or a few rechargeables and a charger (and charge them every night). But, yeah, they work well...

Default 2 way radios

Okay - so we rented these when we went on Carnival Miracle in October. Very inexpensive (like $25.00 for the whole trip). It seemed to work great for the first day - but THEN you couldn't carry on a conversation w/ the other group members. There always seemed to be like 20 people talking at ONE time. Also, if you are anywhere where there is noise - shows, dinner, on deck - you couldn't hear them. You need to clip then beside your ear. Didn't pick up too far away when we took them off the ship. Useless.

Hope this helps!
