Stupid question I know but I figure I will take a chance and ask it anyway.... do the shops on board the ship sell 2 liters of soda of any sort? I plan on ordering some liquor from the Bon Voyage Department and was just wondering as far as mixers go.... my mixer of choice is Coke or Pepsi and didn't know if you had to purchase that on a per drink basis from the Sign and Sail card or if I would be able to get a 2 liter of coke from one of the stores on board the ship...... Thank you in advance....

I read and then re-read your question, and then went to the Carnival site to see if I could help.
You can only buy wine on the Carnival site, and in order to buy alcohol in the ship stores, you have to let them hold it for you until the last night, or even the morning, you get back into your home port. They will deliver it to your cabin.
You won't be able to find Pepsi anywhere on the ship, because Carnival has a Coke contract. I have never seen any Coke product sold by the liter.
Rescue, You know I care about all of you, but I have learned a lot about a cruise board, and I know that posting funny stuff on the Carnival board, makes it look bad. I agree it could ruin a board but that is why I only put the funny stuff on the threads we started. everyone who goes on here knows which ones they are. I like it on the carnival board cause I do like to make legit posts on the carnival area.most times you will notice I am serious on other threads except a little joke here and there but everyone does that. Kinda like a radio station, you know whats on that station so you either listen or not. also with over 6000 views we must be entertaining someone. again sorry to OP for stepping on your thread.

Others on this site have suggested bringing aboard your on liquer and placing it in 2 large zip lock baggies (in case of breakage) and you can bring aboard your own case or 2 litters of soda and put it with your luggage.

What is it with people ignoring rules, anyway? I can't believe people have the stones to risk hundreds or thousands of dollars worth of clothes in their luggage, not to mention confiscation, all to save some bucks on their bar tab. How much clearer can a policy be?

Bringing Alcohol On Board - Embarkation
Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board. However, wine enthusiasts may bring fine wine or champagne on board only during embarkation at the beginning of the cruise. A $10 corkage fee per bottle will be charged should you wish to consume this wine in the dining room or a $14 corkage fee per bottle in the Supper Club. Guests may bring a small quantity of nonalcoholic beverages. All liquor, excessive quantities of wine and nonalcoholic beverages, to be determined at the discretion of security and/or embarkation personnel, will be confiscated and discarded without compensation.
I brought some for the sole purpose of convenience. i was down the hall and 3 decks below any bar . I am in my sleepwear and feel like having a rum and coke to watch the ocean by. i did not feel a few personal drinks for on the balcony was out of hand. Idon't recall ever running back to my room to get a free drink. I agree totally stiffing the ship of booze sales is wrong but a few drinks? I liken it to having a couple at home before you go out to a restaurant or something. my bill at the end of the cruise was $836 give or take a dollar for a 4 day cruise they made decent money off me. even bought 3 $15 drinks in the coconut as souvenirs.

Dorna, it's possible to have a zero balance on your Sail & Sign account if you exercise a little restraint. First of all, though, you will have to prepay your gratuities with your cruise, or else they will show up on your S&S account. Also, you have to prepay excursions, or they, too, will be on your S&S. Actually, even if you prepay excursions, they will show up on your S&S account, with a corresponding credit for the amount prepaid.
You will also have to:
- Buy NO sundries (i.e. suntan lotion, aspirin, forgotten toiletries, etc) in the onboard store
- Drink nothing but the free drinks - there is a drink station where you can get free iced tea, lemonade and a juice or two, also coffee and hot tea (no soda)
- Buy no souvenirs onboard
- Buy no photos onboard
All of those things MUST go on your S&S account onboard. You can't buy those things with cash.
As an example, our $700 S&S account was roughly broken down as $350 bar tab, $50 in the photo shop, $90 for an added excursion, $200 on souvenirs, you get the idea.
You can also (although I wouldn't recommend it) use your S&S account to get cash in the arcade and the casino.
Basically if you don't want to spend any money on your s&s account don't leave your room. I spent $140 on duty free booze( well worth the money), $200 tips not to mention cash tips to the appropriate people, $100 for wife to play roulette in the casino. the rest was booze! I think this may be part of the reason people just book inside cabins, why pay so much just to sleep! I spent $3200 for our balcony for 5 whereas an IC would have been a third of that.
